The Crisis Of Public Policy In Nigeria: The Experience

Abstract

The paper attempts to interrogate the negative effect of the plural nature of the Nigeria state in public policy. Public policies have been coloured with sentiment of the various differences that exist, these have resulted in the failures of the implementation and success of the policies. The paper adopts the behavioural approach in its analysis. It recommends that an important requisite for the promulgation of national and just public policies in Nigeria is the effective transformation of the ruling elite from one that projects and promotes ethnics nationalism to one that celebrates civic nationalism.
